Privacy Policy

Who we are
Hotshot is built and run by Jimbo Works Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales. When we say “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy, that’s who we mean.
What Hotshot does
Hotshot is an iOS app that helps you track your caffeine intake. It’s deliberately simple — you log your drinks and we show you useful information about your caffeine habits.
Your data stays on your device
Hotshot doesn’t have accounts, and we don’t run servers that store your information. All of your caffeine data is stored locally on your device. We don’t collect it, we can’t see it, and we don’t have access to it.
If you delete the app, your data goes with it.
Analytics
We use Apple’s built-in App Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate (things like how many people use a feature, or crash reports). This is provided by Apple as part of the App Store and only shares data with us if you’ve opted in via your device’s privacy settings. We don’t use any third-party analytics or tracking tools.
TestFlight beta
If you join the Hotshot beta through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple collects your name and email address as part of the TestFlight service. This is managed by Apple, not by us. We can see the name and email you provided to TestFlight so we can communicate with beta testers. Once you leave the beta or the beta period ends, we no longer have access to this information through TestFlight.
Under U.K. data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the lawful basis for processing this information is legitimate interests — specifically, being able to run and communicate about the beta programme.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers. The only third party involved is Apple, through the App Store, App Analytics and TestFlight services.
Your rights
Under U.K. law, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to how we’re using your data
In practice, we hold very little about you. If you’re a beta tester and want to exercise any of these rights, just drop us an email (see below). We’ll respond within one month, as required by law.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date at the top. We won’t quietly change things on you.
